KANSAS CITY, Mo. — This was a case where police didn’t have to do much to expose the culprit ... he took care of that himself.

A naked man on an ATV took police on a chase through the Kansas City area for more than an hour Sunday afternoon before finally being captured, according to multiple reports.

A traffic camera shows the ATV driving on an overpass. Another video posted on YouTube shows the man driving the wrong way on an interstate. (Warning, it contains profane language.)

Naturally, it started at about 2 p.m. with a call to police for a “suspicious party ... a naked male,” the Kansas City Star reports.

Melissa Testrake, who was in a car with her two children, managed to get a look at the suspect as he drove the ATV, KMBC Channel 9 reports.

“I thought this wasn’t real, that I was dreaming,” she tells KMBC. “It just took you aback.”

Police tracked him down at about 2:20 p.m. and the chase started. The man managed to keep police at bay for a while by driving into a field, the Star reports.

He eventually left the field and ended up on Interstate 435, driving in the wrong direction in the northbound lanes.

After exiting the turnpike, he continued to dodge police before finally being caught at about 3:45 p.m. at the site of a former casino.

“Thankfully, we don’t see that every day,” Capt. Will Akin of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office tells KMBC.
