SALT LAKE CITY — A YouTube video showing a shirtless young boy resisting a pat-down at Salt Lake City’s airport is renewing criticism of search methods for travelers.
Utah Valley University student Luke Tait says he shot Friday’s video with a cell phone while waiting in a security line.
Witnesses told The Salt Lake Tribune that the boy was so shy he couldn’t hold up his arms for a security agent so his father removed the boy’s shirt to speed things up.
The Transportation Security Administration says nobody has to de-robe at an airport checkpoint.
In this case the TSA says the father took off his son’s shirt, never left his side and that nobody complained about the boy’s plight.
