DALLAS, Texas — A man who was sought in Georgia on charges of sex crimes against children died Tuesday night in a shootout with Fort Worth police.
Officers surrounded a home in the 2000 block of Williams Place on the North Side after the man refused to surrender and a SWAT team had been called in. But before the team arrived, the man came out the back door and fired on officers, who returned fire, police said.
The man, who wasn’t identified, was shot multiple times. Police didn’t give details on where he was from or why he was at the house.
No officers were injured, police said.
