QUEENSLAND, Australia — A man pleaded guilty Tuesday to 13 charges stemming from two police chases in August and September.
In the video of the September chase, Craig Allan Jones, 24, leads police through several suburbs in a yellow Porsche, which after erratically weaving through other, slower vehicles, is launched into a guardrail. After the collision and with only three wheels left, Jones then steals a second vehicle from a rural property and tries to ram a police car.
Officers called the chase off three times as it went on, saying matching the speed of the Porsche was dangerous, according to the Herald Sun. Eventually police arrest him after the tires on the second vehicle blow out.
At the time, Jones had been released from jail and was out on parole. In August, he stole a Mazda SUV and nearly hit students and a lollipop vendor outside a school, according to Senior Constable Greg Mckenzie.
Magistrate Catherine Pirie said she was weighing giving Jones three years in jail, the maximum penalty. Jones will be sentenced Monday, the Brisbane Times reported.
