MIAMI — It was an unlikely sight: A few motorists in Southwest Miami Dade spotted a large brown camel just walking down the road in the Redland area on Wednesday morning.
Only in Dade’s Facebook page posted a video with the caption, “Anybody in the #redlands area missing a #camel?”
Cops and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals soon caught up with the animal, which had been reported lost by a local resident.
According to Miami-Dade police, the camel was roaming around Southwest 194th Avenue and 211th Street at around 9 a.m.
In a Tweet, cops posted a pic of the big guy, with the jovial caption: “What day is it? Today, we helped this camel reunite with its rightful owner. Yes, you read that right, #MDPD helped a camel on day! #HappyHumpDay.”
