STANFORD, Ky. — Deputies caught a man digging up his father’s grave in order to finish an argument, WAVE reported.

A Lincoln County Constable found Michael May, 44, on Aug. 17 digging in Pilot Baptist Church graveyard.

“He told me he was trying to dig his dad up, so his dad could go to Heaven,” Constable Delbert Mitchell told LEX18.

When confronted, May began to yell bible verses and admitted he was intoxicated, Mitchell told the news site.

When a LEX18 reporter spoke with May in jail, May said a bible verse led him to dig up his father, who died over thirty years ago.

May was arrested and charged with violating a grave, public intoxication and possession of marijuana.
