MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. — A woman’s unique response to a sobriety test is turning heads after she danced in a humorous moment caught on bodycam.

According to Fox 13, Amy Harrington, 38, rear-ended a vehicle on April 27. Law enforcement responded, and a deputy relayed the woman had slurred speech as well as glassy eyes, and she was unsteady.

The deputy said she smelled alcohol on the woman, but she refused to do a breath test. The deputy tells Harrington to walk on the yellow line on the ground, and the woman responded with a “yes” that she understood, but she implied the instructions were “ridiculous.”

Instead, Harrington proceeded to dance in a number of styles, including ballet. When asked again to comply with the request, Harrington said, “Oh my God! You sound like my [expletive] ballet coach.”

As she continued her dance routine, the deputy asked if there was a reason she couldn’t follow directions, the woman replied, “because you sound like my ballet coach.”

Almost eight minutes passed before the woman was put in handcuffs. Harrington is being charged with DUI as well as property damage and refusal to submit to breath testing. She was previously arrested in 2019 for refusing a breath test.
