Police say two people have been arrested and the search is on for a third after gunfire from a vehicle damaged a patrol car

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Police in Pennsylvania’s capital say two people are in custody and they’re searching for a third after someone fired at a patrol car, damaging it but missing the officer inside.

Harrisburg officials say the man they’re seeking is believed to have fired multiple shots at six different locations during the pursuit early Wednesday. Police had been responding to a robbery call.

Police say the suspected gunman is 20-year-old Shawn McCoy, who eluded police after the vehicle stopped. Police are also charging 25-year-old Yusef Chandler-Blake and 24-year-old Sharyne Cook with various offenses.

Online court records didn’t list charges for the suspects. Police say they haven’t requested lawyers or indicated anyone represents them.

The shooting and vehicle pursuit led police to advise nearby residents to stay in their homes.
