CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Police investigating the slaying of the University of North Carolina’s student body president may have a new break in the case.
Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall told WRAL-TV on Wednesday that police are talking to a person of interest in the death of Eve Carson. He had no further comment.
WTVD-TV broadcast a video Wednesday of a man arrested during a raid in Durham who the station said was later turned over to Chapel Hill police.
Numerous calls to police in Chapel Hill and Durham, and Woodall’s office in Hillsboro, were not immediately returned.
The 22-year-old Carson was found last week lying on a street about a mile from campus. The Georgia native had been shot several times, including once in the right temple.
