MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — The two Central Indiana police officers accused of using a TASER on an ‘unruly’ 10-year-old boy have been suspended without pay, says Mayor Phil Deckard.
Capt. Bill Jennings and Patrolman Darren Johnson are being investigated for violating department policy after using force on the child, according to local reports.
On March 30, the officers were called to a home day care center where the boy allegedly “hit, kicked, and spit on a caretaker,” according to the Indianapolis Star. The boy was combative against officers, who eventually slapped him before using a TASER.
According to WishTV.com, the boy didn’t suffer any significant injuries, but the officers are still under investigation by the department.
