SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol gave an emotional sendoff to a lifelong service member Monday — a K-9 named Cuba.

WTSP.com reported that K-9 Cuba, who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, was greeted by friends and colleagues of the department during his final walk. His handler, Trooper Zeller, remained by K-9 Cuba’s side the entire time.

“Cuba spent his lifetime in service to Missouri, and will be missed,” the department wrote on Twitter.
