DILKON, Ariz. — A Navajo Nation police officer suffered a fatal heart attack Sunday.
According to KPHO, 54-year-old Officer Ernest Montoya was transporting a suspect to the jail facility on the reservation in Dilkon when he suffered the attack, causing him to veer off the roadway and crash.
Officer Montoya had served with the Navajo Department of Public Safety since October 1993, according to the report.
