A Mississippi Gaming Commission agent was shot and killed Wednesday morning during a training exercise.
John Ballard Gorman, 45, was shot around 9 a.m. when another agent’s gun discharged accidentally, according to WREG.com.
Gorman had been with the gaming commission for 22 years and had been promoted to Director of Investigations the day before he was killed.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.
Gorman is survived by his wife and two daughters.
