HAMILTON HEIGHTS, N.Y. — The NYPD has released body camera footage of an officer-involved shooting that took place last month.
WABC reports that the officers responded to a call about a man attempting suicide at an apartment complex on Oct. 22. After knocking on his door, the suspect, 27-year-old Paris Cumming, charged at the officers with two knives.
The officers ordered Cumming to drop the weapons several times before firing. The suspect was shot in the leg and received immediate medical attention from the officers.
Cumming was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
