PHOENIX — Police released body camera video Tuesday of a July 20 officer-involved shooting of a fleeing armed suspect.
Police initially responded to a suspicious vehicle call, AZ Central reported. Video shows Officer George Davis walking up to the car and asking Antonio Garcia Goff, 22, if he had identification.
Davis then saw an ECD and knife on Goff’s passenger seat. Goff apologized for having the weapons before Davis told him to exit his vehicle. Goff initially appeared to comply, but then began to drive off. Davis can be heard in the video yelling “Don’t, don’t, don’t” as Goff drives off.
Davis opened fire as Goff drove away.
The body camera does not show Goff’s arrest. He was arrested in a backyard with the help of a K-9.
He was booked into jail on an outstanding warrant, as well as on suspicion of aggravated assault on an officer and trespassing. An investigation is ongoing.
