Video: Ohio cops dragged by fleeing car

The two officers suffered minor injuries after they were dragged 100 feet

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Police released video Friday of two officers who were dragged by a suspect fleeing a traffic stop. 

Officers Jeffrey Mecklenburg and Gregory Jakomin pulled over suspect Gabrielle Sanders, 30, Thursday night when she fled, dragging both officers 100 feet, Cleveland.com reported.

Both officers suffered minor injuries. 

 

Reports do not specify why police pulled Sanders over. When asked for identification, Sanders could not provide any, according to the publication. 

When they attempted to arrest her, Sanders fled. Body cam footage shows officers got caught in the doors. 

Officers were able to free themselves before Sanders hit a utility pole. 

Both officers were treated and released. Sanders is in custody.
