Video: Iowa officer TASERs suspect assaulting him

The officer fought off the aggressive suspect in the snow-covered streets

CENTERVILLE, Iowa — Centerville police released body camera footage of a suspect assaulting an officer on a snowy street, the Daily Iowegian reported.

Jacob James Myers, 30, immediately charged an officer as he exited his vehicle during a suspicious persons call. Myers was carrying an unknown weapon in his hand.

The officer deployed his TASER but Myers continued to attack the officer and shouted, “I am going to [expletive] kill you, I’m going to kill you [expletive].”

The struggle ensued for two minutes until the officer was able to pin Myers to the street.

Another officer arrived on scene and had to deploy a TASER several more times before they could take Myers into custody.

Myers was charged with assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, second degree criminal mischief, fifth degree criminal mischief and reckless driving.

The officers involved were not injured.
