Pa. cop loses control of cruiser, crashes into vet clinic

The officer had to be cut out of his vehicle, but he wasn’t hurt

SPRINGDALE, Pa. — Police say a police officer lost control of his cruiser on a slippery road before crashing through the wall of a veterinary clinic in Pennsylvania.

Springdale borough police Chief Julio Medeiros says the officer from neighboring Springdale Township was responding to a call when he crashed at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

Both municipalities are about 15 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, along the Allegheny River.

The officer had to be cut out of his vehicle, but he wasn’t hurt.

Kim Linkenheimer is the owner of the River Valley Veterinary Hospital. She says her clinic will stay open and the hole will be covered with a tarp in the meantime.

Witness Larry Roche tells KDKA-TV, “I watched him go right into that building, and I thought, ‘Man, that’s not professional.’”
