The student pilot who crash-landed a plane into the Farmington Police Department is in critical condition.

Farmington, N.M. -- The student pilot who crash-landed on the roof of the Farmington Police Department is recovering from head and internal injuries, a broken leg and a broken arm.
Mesa Airlines Pilot Development student Jeff Lewis remains in critical condition.
The former Farmington firefighter was airlifted to University of New Mexico Hospital a few hours after the Thursday night accident.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
Mesa Airlines officials say it?s too early to determine the cause of the crash of the Beechcraft Bonanza A-36.
Lewis was apparently practicing takeoffs and landings when the crash occurred.
Mesa officials described Lewis as a very enthusiastic student.
