LITTLE ELM, Texas — The Little Elm Police Department released body camera footage showing an unexpected “arrest” of a local goat.
Footage from the Nov. 25 incident shows the officer approaching the goat and asking it where it was from. The suspect did not provide any identifying information.
The officer then began to persuade the goat to get into the back of his patrol vehicle.
“Hey, little goat guy, look at this! Look at how cool this car is!” the officer can be heard saying.
The suspect approached the vehicle and initially tried to climb into the front seat before being redirected into the back.
"[The goat] demands grass. Receives grass. Accepts his rights with zero remorse,” the department wrote in a Facebook post.
In-car video shows the goat lying in the backseat and chewing as the officer reads its Miranda rights.
“If this is your goat, please retrieve him. He’s already trying to promote himself to Sergeant,” the department stated.
