Watch: Cops-n-Bobbers introduces kids to police officers and fishing

More than 200 hundred kids and their parents had a chance to learn how to fish while having positive interactions with Wisconsin law enforcement officers

PLOVER, Wis. — Cops-n-Bobbers celebrated its 15th annual youth fishing outing on June 1, 2024, at Lake Pacawa Park in Plover, Wisconsin.

The event, co-hosted and organized by the Plover Police Department, Stevens Point Police Department and the Portage County Sheriff’s Department, brought together more than 200 kids, their parents and dozens of local law enforcement officers. Together, the cops and kids fished for panfish and bass, got to know one another and made lasting connections through positive interactions.

Seth Pionke, crime prevention officer for the Plover Police Department, took a few minutes away from his role as a co-organizer to speak with Police1 about Cops-n-Bobbers.
