NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — After nearly a century in service, the New Holland Police Department is shutting down its station and joining forces with neighboring West Earl Township, the department stated in a Facebook post.
“We want to take a minute and thank our incredible community for all the support and trust you have given to the New Holland Police Department over the past 99 years. It has been an honor to serve this community,” the PD stated.

The department reminded residents that its police station will not be operational and its public information forums will not be maintained. West Earl Township officials also assured residents that patrol coverage in New Holland will maintain quick response times under the West Earl PD.
“Our officers will be assigned to patrol areas that will be the same coverage that was provided by the New Holland Police Department,” the West Earl PD assured a concerned commenter.
The New Holland PD also stated that some officers will be transferring their employment to the West Earl PD.
“Together with the officers of West Earl, we remain committed to ensuring the continued safety and high level of service to our residents,” the department stated.
New Holland, a borough in Lancaster County, has a population of around 5,760, according to 2020 census data.
