OAKLAND, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has unveiled the results of an extensive crime suppression operation in Oakland and Alameda County, marking a pivotal moment in the fight against a surge in vehicular thefts, retail crimes and other illegal activities plaguing the East Bay area.
An increase in state law enforcement personnel to address the ongoing public safety crisis within Alameda County yields positive results in a short period — including 71 arrests, the recovery of 145 stolen vehicles and four firearms.
