Subway employee fired for Facebook posts celebrating cop killings

Posts referenced the slayings of Officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate, who were killed Saturday night during a traffic stop

LAUREL, Miss. — Restaurant chain Subway has terminated an employee after she posted Facebook messages celebrating the deaths of two Mississippi cops.

The employee, who identified as Sierra McCurdy on Facebook, posted a photo of herself in uniform along with the caption, “2 police officers was [sic] shot in hattiesburg tonight! GOT EM’,” according to the Clarion-Ledger.

McCurdy was referencing the slayings of Officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate, who were killed Saturday night during a traffic stop.

“This kind of behavior is unacceptable and does not represent the values and ethics of our brand,” a Subway spokesperson told The Clarion-Ledger. " The franchisee has terminated the employee, effective immediately.”
