Las Vegas K-9 trials builds community connections

LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department K-9 Section recently hosted the 31st Annual LVMPD K-9 Trials on March 19, 2023, at South Point Arena in Las Vegas.
Teams from all over the country joined the LVMPD K-9 Section in competitions for narcotics, bombs, area search, building search, obedience, agility and handler protection. German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Labradors and English Springer Spaniels competed in the seven different categories.
In this video, Las Vegas Metro Police Department Assistant Sheriff James Seebock and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation Executive Director Tom Kovach discuss the importance of the K-9 trials as a community outreach initiative, as well as other LVMPD community outreach programs.
