Photos: Nation pays tribute to fallen LEOs during Police Week
Officers, family members and supporters gathered to recognize and honor 701 law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty
Last week, law enforcement officers, family members of the fallen and supporters from across the country gathered during Police Week to mourn our nation's officers who died in the line of duty. This year, 701 new names of fallen officers – including 434 who died in 2019 and 2020 – were dedicated during the 33rd Annual Candlelight Vigil.
A variety of special activities were held from October 13-17, including the candlelight vigil, wreath laying ceremony, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund's "Run for the Badge" 5K, family day at the National Law Enforcement Museum and the Police Unity Tour, a four-day, 300-mile bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington, D.C.
Below are photos from last week's commemorative events. Do you have photos or videos from Police Week? Email us at editor@police1.com and we will add them to our roundup.
