Michigan State Police said the trooper was taken to the hospital and treated for a possible torn tendon and road rash from being dragged by the suspect’s SUV.

Before the suspect was transported to a hospital for injuries he received in the crash, he was belligerent and uncooperative with troopers on scene. A warrant was being written for suspected impaired driving, Michigan State Police said.

“Here is another driver, possibly impaired, driving at a high rate of speed. It puts all of us in danger and is preventable. We are extremely lucky that this crash did not end up much worse. Just slow down and don’t drive impaired. It is that easy,” Lt. Mike Shaw said in a post on X.
