WASHINGTON — The U.S. Capitol Police officer who was injured in a deadly attack Friday has been released from the hospital, according to CBS News.
Officer Ken Shaver was seen leaving the hospital in a wheelchair Monday. Video shows he was greeted with applause from a group of law enforcement officers. The full extent of his injuries isn’t clear, but Shaver walked slowly to a waiting car while wearing a leg brace.
Shaver was injured when a driver rammed his car into a barricade outside the Capitol building. Fellow Capitol Police Officer William “Billy” Evans was killed in the attack. The driver was shot by police and later died.
