GREENVILLE, S.C. — A Burger King customer was shocked after an employee told her a recently slain officer “got what he deserved,” WSPA reported.

A Facebook post, by Rachel Sanders, claimed she was discussing the recent fatal shooting of Greenville Officer Allen Jacobs by a gang member with a sympathetic cashier when another employee gave their opinion.

“I have never been so mad in my life,” Sanders wrote. “ I flipped out I couldn’t believe what I had heard.”

The manager, identified by Sanders as “Barbara”, told her and the cashier, “The cop got what he deserved, messing with these kids for no reason.”

Sanders also claimed the cashier was fired as a result of the conversation.

The fast food chain released a statement saying they were looking into the incident.

“We are concerned about this incident and take these matters very seriously,” they wrote in the statement. “The franchise owner, who independently owns and operates this restaurant, is launching an investigation in accordance with their personnel procedures.”

Sanders’ Facebook post garnered over 20,000 shares.
