Ky. officer fired on man who threatened with a gun

PARIS, Ky. — State police are investigating a shooting by a sheriff’s deputy in northeastern Kentucky.

The shooting by an officer with the Bourbon County Sheriff’s office occured last night.

Deputy Ed Rogers responded to the complaint about an intoxicated man. When he arrived at the home in Paris he identified 37-year-old Robert Brewer, who told Rogers he had a weapon.

The officer says Brewer threatened him and then made a quick movement.

Rogers fired at the man, disabling him.

Brewer was taken to the hospital in Bourbon County and was later flown to University of Kentucky Hospital. His condition was not known this morning.
