COLUMBIA, S.C. — A 34-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a police officer at a South Carolina shopping mall faces five additional charges.

The State Law Enforcement Division says 34-year-old Jarvis Hall was charged Thursday with possessing stolen weapons and a stolen vehicle, replacing the license plate, resisting arrest, and receiving stolen goods.

Authorities say 32-year-old Officer Greg Alia was shot after Hall ran through Richland Mall in Forest Acres, about 3 miles east of downtown Columbia, before the stores opened. The officer was responding to a call of a suspicious person.

Hall was arrested immediately after the Sept. 30 shooting and charged with murder. Arrest warrants say Alia was shot with a stolen, .40-caliber handgun. A stolen shotgun was found inside a stolen vehicle parked at the mall.

Hall remains in Richland County jail.
