SARASOTA, Fla. — Video of a Florida officer’s emotional final sign off has gone viral.
Officer Andre Jenkins became emotional as he signed off for the final time Friday, Fox News reported. After 30 years of service, Jenkins retired from the Sarasota Police Department.
“This will be my last transmission radio,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins noted the memories he had with the department and said he’ll always cherish his police family. The officer also wished members of his department a safe tour of duty in the future.
“Congratulations on your retirement,” the dispatcher said.
“We might be biased but the men and women of the Sarasota Police Department have some of the biggest hearts for our community. We love serving, protecting and giving back,” the department wrote on Facebook.
