SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police released body camera and cell phone footage from a November officer-involved shooting, KXLY reported.

The suspect, 20-year-old Tyler Randant, had tried to carjack several people while armed with a knife.

When Officer Cory Lyons responded, he cleared bystanders from the street and around the suspect. Randant then fled on foot to a crowded gas station. Cell phone footage showed Randant attempting to open the door of an SUV with a child in the passenger’s seat.

Officers commanded Randant to drop the knife and step away, but he ignored their orders. Lyons and Officer Holt Widhalm fired their service weapons and hit Randant in the chest and legs.

As officers rendered aid to the handcuffed suspect, he told police, “I’ll never do meth again.”

Randant was charged with four counts of attempted first degree robbery for the vehicles he attempted to steal and five counts second degree assault. He was being held on a $100,000 bail in the Spokane County Jail.
