CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A suspected drunken driver caught fire after being TASERed during a confrontation with police.

NBC 12 reports 26-year-old Miles November crashed his vehicle Saturday after fleeing a traffic stop for suspicion of driving under the influence.

After police and firefighters freed November from the vehicle, which had flipped multiple times, the suspect began struggling with officers.

One officer deployed a TASER, which caused November’s clothes to ignite. Police believe the suspect came in contact with gasoline during the crash, causing the fire after the TASER connected.

According to WTVR, November suffered burns on 85% of his body and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.

November was charged Monday with eluding police and driving after forfeiture of license in connection to the incident.

The suspect has a history of assaulting police. In 2008, he was found guilty of assaulting three cops during another DUI stop.
