MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Four people, including three children, received minor injuries when a driver — later arrested walking naked along South U.S. 441 — rear-ended their sport utility vehicle on County Road 328 Wednesday evening.

After the collision, both vehicles stopped; and Andrew Alan Humphries, 18, who had been driving a 2001 Honda Accord, got out and ran, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release. Humphries, who took all his clothes off after the accident, was later arrested by a sheriff’s deputy and faces two counts of criminal mischief.

Before the traffic crash, the Honda was behind a 2005 Ford Escape traveling west on CR 328, and the Ford slowed down as it approached U.S. 441. Troopers said the Honda driver did not realize the Ford was slowing down and the car hit the back of the SUV.

The Ford’s driver, Sherona D. Thomas, 36 of Ocala, and three children, ages 12, 13 and 15, was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Everyone was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash, officials said.

As of Friday morning, Humphries was still in the Marion County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail. Charges are pending in connection with the accident.
