IACP 2012 video interview: The AeroVironment Qube

Editor’s Note: Many thanks to our friends at TASER International for equipping me with the TASER AXON Flex body-worn video camera and Evidence.com digital evidence management solution for secure video storage and retrieval.

During IACP 2012 in San Diego, I was able to spend a little time with the folks from AeroVironment — the company that makes the Raven and Wasp Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) for the United States military — to get a quick précis of their new system being introduced to the American law enforcement market in the coming months.

The Qube is a rugged little UAS with an estimated flight endurance of about 40 minutes, and a range radius of around 1 kilometer (about a third of a mile). Specifically meant for first responders, the Qube fits in the trunk of a squad car, and can be assembled and ready for flight in less than five minutes.

Check out my brief interview with Roy Minson of AeroVironment.
