BALTIMORE — Police shot a suspect after he walked into a news station claiming to have a bomb strapped to his body and threatened to blow up the building, WBFF reported.

The man walked into the Fox affiliate news building towards officers on April 28 and refused to follow their orders, police spokesperson T.J. Smith told the publication. When the man, described as in his 20s, refused to take his bands out of his pockets, a sniper shot him.

The incident began when the man wearing a surgical mask, sunglasses and a bizarre outfit — described as an “animal onesie” — demanded the news report on a story about a government conspiracy on his flash drive.

Outside of the building, fire was emanating from the gas tank of a sedan.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was expected to survive. No further information was available.
