SPARKS, Nev. (AP) -- A woman who hung up after accidentally calling 911 ended up in jail when officers came to check on her welfare.
Lisa O’Brien, 32, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of violating probation and failing to register as a felon.
Her boyfriend, Andrew Evans, was also arrested for failing to register and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
According to Sparks police, O’Brien told officers she accidentally dialed 911 while checking her voice mail.
When an officer showed up to check on her, he learned the pair were ex-felons and had not registered their new addresses.
A hypodermic needles was also found in the bathroom, police said. Officers checked the bathroom after O’Brien asked to use it before going to jail.
Evans told officers the needled belonged to his roommate’s diabetic wife, police said.
