Seattle Police officers ordered the man, who was reportedly pointing the gun at passing drivers, to drop the weapon; instead, he pointed it at the responding cops

SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department released body camera footage showing an officer-involved shooting of a man who repeatedly pointed a gun at officers.

The Dec. 2 incident occurred when the department received multiple 911 calls about a man brandishing a gun, according to the release.

Dash camera footage shows officers arriving on the scene, intercepting the suspect as he paced along the sidewalk. He was holding the weapon in his hand and pointing it into the air as he walked.

An officer can be heard issuing repeated instructions for the man to drop the gun. The man continued to approach before lowering the gun and pointing it at officers.

Officers then fired multiple shots at the suspect, striking him. The suspect fell to the ground before sitting up and pointing the gun at officers again.

Officers then fired more shots until the man fell back to the ground. Officers rendered aid, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.
