Photo of the week: New ambassador helps Ohio officers better serve blind residents

New role at the University Circle Police Department aims to strengthen outreach and service to visually impaired community members

In a meaningful ceremony at the Cleveland Sight Center, University Circle Police Department in Cleveland, Ohio, welcomed Kenneth Foderaro as its newest Police Ambassador. Blind since birth, Kenny has been a close friend of Officer Jeff Ridler for 28 years and will work alongside him to build connections with residents who are blind or have low vision.

Kenny, 38, is an accomplished singer and piano player — even having performed with an international band from Israel. As Police Ambassador, he’ll help educate officers on better serving individuals with visual impairments and raise community awareness about the important contributions of people who are blind.
