NYPD honors officers who died on Sept. 11 with Twitter tribute

The department marked the 17th anniversary of the attacks with posts for each fallen officer

NEW YORK — The New York Police Department marked the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks Tuesday by dedicating their Twitter account to posts remembering NYPD officers who gave their lives during response and rescue efforts.

“In remembrance of those we lost on September 11, 2001, and those we lost ot 9/11-related illnesses, we dedicate the following tribute to each of the fallen,” the department posted, using the hashtag "#NeverForget.”

Each post includes a photo of the officer, their name and end of tour date.
