Video: SC man thanks LE with ‘Blue Christmas’

He wanted to honor those who serve and protect every day

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. — Instead of Santa and reindeer on the front lawn, a man wanted to use his Christmas decorations to thank law enforcement officers everywhere this holiday season.

Kevin Dunn, whose father was a trooper, told WSPA that this year he wanted to honor the LEOs that serve and protect every day and remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

“[I] came up with the idea shortly after Greenville Officer Alan Jacobs lost his life,” Dunn said. “I didn’t know him, but it hit me hard.”

Jacobs was killed in April when he and another officer tried to talk to a teenager who had recently gotten out of prison, WYFF4 reported.

Dunn wants to see the “Blue Christmas” movement spread to other states and become a tradition during the holiday season.
