Vigilant Solutions announced the release of its newest mobile app at the 2014 IACP conference. The new Mobile Companion app combines several analytic tools that Vigilant’s LEARN product has released over the last few years.

“[Mobile Companion] is the only app out there that leverages facial recognition and LPR data,” said Vigilant Solutions’ Vice President of Marketing Brian Shockley.

One of the features of the app is FaceSearch® facial recognition technology, which analyzes over 350 different vectors of the human face, allowing officers to snap a photo of a willing subject in the field to have it matched with over 13 million pre-populated images in the Vigilant law enforcement data center, as well as any other images that the agency has uploaded into its own gallery.

The app also includes Vigilant’s Mobile Hit Hunter — an analytic tool that matches privately collected license plate reader (LPR) data with police agencies’ hotlists to let officers in the field know where vehicles of interest are located in proximity to their person.

The app also features Stake Out, which allows for geography-based searches of LPR data, among many other analytic tools designed for officers in the field.
