DULUTH, Ga. — A Georgia police department praised an officer who helped a family pick up their kitten from the vet.
On Thursday, Duluth Officer Heather McNaughton was called after a woman’s vehicle broke down in the middle of the road during rush hour, WAGA-TV reports. After helping the woman get the vehicle off the road, the officer saw that the woman, who had a child with her, was not having a great day.
The woman told McNaughton that she needed to pick up a kitten from the vet before she was penalized with late fees. McNaughton stepped in and drove the family to pick up their kitten just in time.

McNaughton also drove them home.
“Officer Heather McNaughton exhibited compassion to the highest standard, putting herself in the woman’s situation and exemplifying how people should be treated,” the Duluth Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The department shared a photo of McNaughton with the kitten, which has been getting some attention.
