Even after a suspect has been placed in handcuffs, it’s vital that cops maintain situational awareness and vigilance at all times. As these four videos show, it only takes a few seconds of letting your guard down for a suspect to make off with your cruiser and leave you stranded on the side of the road. 1. Handcuffed Okla. suspect steals cruiser containing K-9 during stop

The suspect moved the cuffs from his back to the front of his body, hopped in the driver’s seat and took off. A police K-9, Cash, was in the back and along for the ride.

2. Pa. woman steals cruiser while cuffed, leads pursuit
