TROTWOOD, Ohio — Newly released dash camera video shows the moment a suspect in a truck slammed into a cruiser and landed on top of it, WLWT reported.
The incident occurred on Jan. 8 after James Skirvin, 54, ran over a 35-year-old woman and brandished a long gun, according to the report. Skirvin fled the scene, leading to a pursuit by the Trotwood Police Department.
The dash camera video released on Feb. 12 shows the suspect fleeing several cruisers. At an intersection, the suspect vehicle crossed to the other side of the road and rammed a cruiser head-on, landing on top of the cruiser.
The officer who was inside of the cruiser was taken to a hospital and continues to recover, police told the Dayton Daily News.
Skirvin was indicted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, according to the report.
