CLEVELAND — Protesters upset by a decision not to indict police officers in the fatal shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice are continuing their call for the Cleveland prosecutor to step down.
More than 100 people marched Friday to the home of Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty.
Protesters chanted for him to resign, saying “McGinty has got to go!”
March organizers told participants not to vandalize McGinty’s house.
Police officers accompanied the marchers and stood in front of the prosecutor’s house during the protest.
A McGinty spokesman declined to comment.
McGinty announced earlier this week that the officers involved in the November 2014 shooting of Tamir would not face criminal charges. The black boy was drawing what turned out to be a pellet gun from his waistband when he was shot.
