Watch: Ind. police officers strike a pose in viral photo shoot

JCPenney called — they want their catalog back

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Move over, JCPenney — Cat MacDonald Photography just dropped the most iconic photoshoot of 2025, featuring none other than the Michigan City (Ind.) Police Department.

The result? A series of photos that look straight out of a 1997 JCPenney catalog and the internet can’t get enough. Within days, the video hit viral status on social media, prompting an outpouring of hilarious comments.

“We knew you were a top-notch photographer,” one follower wrote, “but who knew MCPD could go straight to vogue mode?!”

Another follower pleaded, “OK. We need you for my fire department,” while another perfectly captured the spirit of the shoot with, “I love how you got photographic proof that most cops are goofy little gremlins.”

But perhaps the most pressing issue raised in the comments? The glaring absence of the department’s K-9s at the top of the human pyramid.

“Very upset the doggy wasn’t at the top of the pyramid,” one follower wrote.

Never one to leave a fan request unanswered, MacDonald responded with a second post: a gallery of the department’s four-legged officers looking just as photogenic (and arguably more cooperative) than their two-legged counterparts.
