COPS teams with The Wounded Blue to help injured police officers and their families

Officer wellness and resilience take center stage at 5th Annual National Law Enforcement Survival Summit

LAS VEGAS — Officer wellness and resilience will be the focus of the 5th Annual National Law Enforcement Survival Summit, hosted by The Wounded Blue September 22–25, 2025, at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino.

The four-day event will feature training in emotional, financial, physical and career survival, with the goal of helping officers thrive amid the challenges of modern policing.

In a significant show of support, COPS television producer Morgan Langley and an anonymous donor are funding free registration for any law enforcement officer injured in the line of duty or experiencing PTSD/PTSI — and their spouse — to attend the Summit.

“For more than three decades we have been working with police officers across this nation and have seen the effects of both physical and emotional injuries,” Langley said. “We couldn’t be more proud than to team with The Wounded Blue to help heal those who have sacrificed so much.”

Lt. Randy Sutton (Ret.), founder of The Wounded Blue, will host the event and deliver the opening address. “This Survival Summit is about emotional survival and law enforcement resilience,” Sutton said. “Now more than ever, our brothers and sisters in blue need to know they are not alone in their struggles.”

The Summit lineup includes:

  • Captain Tom Rizzo with the “IVORY TOWER” seminar
  • Sgt. John Kelly (Ret.), host of the Sometimes Heroes Need Help podcast
  • Dr. Trevor Wilkins, known as the Angry Viking Therapist
  • Sgt. John Mattingly, author of 12 Seconds in the Dark
  • Doug White, author of Hiding In Plain Sight
  • Nick Daugherty of FinancialCop
  • Nicole and Marc Junkerman

Sessions will cover trauma recovery, family wellness, financial stability, policing reform and more. Peer-support activities, including “Campfire Conversations,” will provide officers an opportunity to share survival stories in a confidential setting.

The Survival Summit is open to all active and retired officers, spouses, peer supporters and police leaders. Registration for eligible injured officers, those with PTSD/PTSI, and their spouses is free. Meals are included, and lodging discounts are available through the host venue.
