MIAMI, Fla. - Three men have been arrested in a deadly crime spree that included 12 robberies and three murders in the Miami area, police said Thursday.
Detectives working off a description of a vehicle used in one of the crimes stopped a Lincoln Continental on Tuesday. Inside, police say they found a shotgun, semiautomatic handgun, and a mask and jacket linked to the robberies through video surveillance.
Samuel Wade Wright, 21, and Alton Moses, 19, were charged with three counts of first-degree murder and multiple counts of robbery and drug violations. Jeremy Smith, 19, was charged with one count of armed robbery and drug possession.
The killings and robberies date to January, when a person was shot to death at a nail and beauty salon. In February, another person was shot behind the counter of a convenience store. Most recently, a manager at a Foot Locker was killed April 1 as he made a night deposit at a nearby bank. He was shot once through the back.
